This website is devoted for Windows XP security for private users. Most software mentioned on this website is for private, home computer users only, and is not for corporations and institutions or organizations.
Home security, in this case, refers to viruses, spyware, and protecting your system from (black hat) hackers on the Internet. This website is not intended to teach your about computer security in general, but instead how to get a descent amount of Internet computer security.
Why did I create this page? Because Windows XP needs people to look after it to keep users and computers safe. When you get on the Internet, it will only take a few hours for most Windows computers to get infected or hacked.
Language
This website uses Canadian English. As such, you may see extra Us in words, or S' when you expect Zs if you are American. And if you are British you will see words looking more Americanized. Canadian English is sort of in the middle.
Through this website the word Internet is capilized. More and more news and editing organizations are no capitalizing the word Internet. But until this style is widely adopted, I will continue to use Internet so people don't think I am just some l33t d00d.
Finally, I properly pluralise the word virus.
Give me a hand
I'm looking to spruce up these pages with some nice pictures. The pictures don't need to be technical accurate. How can you get a technically accurate picture of a computer virus? But if you know of any images or can make images, feel free to contact me. Please make sure you know if I am legally able to use the images on this website, suppling contact information if in doubt. Any good leads will be appreciated. And no, I won't actually buy any pictures.
I welcome any thoughts, ideas, or corrections.
